The assistive technology that I thought was interesting was the Apple iPad. An iPad is an amazing new technology that can be greatly beneficial for educating students. It is a touch screen tablet that is capable of going on the internet, getting e-mail, viewing photos, playing music, and running thousands of “Apps”. The iPad is a great facilitator for learning. It is an interesting technology that many students will be excited to get their hands on. For students with disabilities, the iPad would be great for those with sight problems. The iPad is capable of zooming in to extreme magnifications which would make it so much easier for those specific students. For students who have learning disabilities there are Apps for students to help them study. There are other Apps that can help the students communicate at home with their families. iPad’s can be customized for students and their own specific needs due to their disabilities.
